Use Google’s new Keyword tool to get comprehensive keywords ideas for your business, products and services . Currently the new interface for Google Keyword Tool is in Beta stage. There are many features added in the new Google Keyword Tool e.g. Advanced Options, Categories, Google Insights, Sorting etc.
Advanced Options in Google Keyword Tool
Localizations and Languages: You can change the country and language setting to refine your keywords research. Changing the language and country setting would allow Google Keyword Tool to calculate monthly searches by locale, search trends by locale and competition statistics. (This function is present in the old Google keyword tool as well)
Mobile Network Statistics: Google’s New Keyword Tool shows search volume data for mobile devices. While doing your keywords research, remember that Mobile search settings only affects the search volume columns and does not affect estimated performance columns. However, the mobile statistics shown do not include data for smart phones and handheld digital devices with full internet browsing capabilities. (Newly added feature)
Limit your Results: Google New Keyword Tool allows you to limit your research by showing keywords results for all keyword ideas as well as ideas containing your search terms only. (This function is present in the old Google keyword tool as well)
Filter Keywords: An interesting feature of Google New Keyword Tool is filtering keywords by Ad Share, Local Monthly Searches, Global Monthly Searches, Competition, Estimated Avg. CPC and Search Share. (Few of the filter option is also available in the old Google keyword tool)
Some More Features in New Google Keyword Tool
- Sort keywords alphabetically and highest count numbers.
- Research and generate category based keywords statistics.
- View search trends in Google Insights for Search.
The drawback(s) I noticed in Google’s New Keyword tool:
Possibly a searching conflict if anybody wants to perform keyword research using “Word or phrase” and “Website” simultaneously. In the previous version of Google Keyword Tool “Word or phrase” and “Website” based keywords research is offered as a separate option under different tabs. But now both are offered as same option and not differentiated using tabs. And notably, if anybody inputs “Word or phrase” and “Website” simultaneously for performing keywords research, Google Keyword Tool is giving preference to “Word or phrase” which is surely a technical glitch.
Google’s New Keyword Tool includes the keywords matching type by Broad, Exact and Phrase. But missing the Negative matching type, which is present in old Google Keyword Tool.
No Synonyms keywords searching option as the previous Google keyword tool.
The previous Google Keyword Tool is still available for use at https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal.
