Google New Look and FeelToday while Googling, I noticed the “new” Google look-and-feel for its search box and search results. This is a 3 column UI design that Google’s actually been testing for some time – “Google Tackles Its “UI Jazz” Problem, Tests Streamlining Search Options Feature“. That testing seems to be in action. But this new UI could only be seen in Firefox. Internet Explorer and Chrome browsers are still showing the “old” or “normal” look.

Below, a few screenshots of Google UI showing what I currently see:

Here’s a look when I open all the options:

One new option I noticed is the Updates tab: This is Google’s Real-Time Search.

New Google Search Updates

According to Danny Sullivan Google’s actually been testing this three column UI design for some time.

So who sees the changes? About 1% to 3% of Google users, who will be randomly selected. The test will probably run for about six weeks. If successful, expect to see the changes — altered to take in account test feedback — show up across Google soon after that.

This testing appears to be accelerating and more are seeing a new Google Look-And-Feel.

What about yours? Have you been able to see Google’s New Look and Feel?
